Hercules in New York [VHS] Hercules in New York [VHS]

HERCULES IN NEW YORK (USA - 1969) Aspect ratio: 1.37:1 Theatrical soundtrack: Mono Against his father's direct orders, Hercules (Arnold Schwarzenegger) leaves Olympus and journeys to Earth, where he enjoys a series of wild adventures. Micro-budget fluff, designed to showcase the strength, agility and fantastic physique of bodybuilding champion Schwarzenegger (billed as 'Arnold Strong'), here making his feature debut. Production values never rise above porno level (Zeus' kingdom consists of nothing more than a plastic throne and a couple of drapes, filmed in a public park!), and the sound quality fluctuates from shot to shot (you can hear traffic somewhere beyond the aforementioned 'magic' kingdom!!). On top of the meandering plot and rotten visual effects (get a load of the 'rampaging grizzly', actually a guy in flea-bitten bear suit!), the movie is further handicapped by Schwarzenegger's dreadful performance - he's fine while showing off his torso, but his flat monotone delivery is in sharp contrast to some talented supporting players, including well-known character actors James Karen and Richard Herd (what were they thinking?). If nothing else, however, the movie provides an opportunity for viewers to feast their eyes on Schwarzenegger's magnificent body, which he displays at every opportunity. Oh, and look out for the scene in which he steers a horse-drawn carriage down the middle of Times Square, an iconic image which transcends the rough material in which it's featured. Directed by Arthur Allan Seidelman. NB. In an alternate version of the film, Arnie is dubbed with god-like hamminess by an uncredited voice artist. That one's even funnier!

THIS HAS TO BE THE WORST MOVIE I EVER SAW. THE ONLY LAUGHTER WAS AT MYSELF FOR ACTUALLY SITTING THROUGH THE WHOLE THING. ITS SAVING GRACE WAS DUE TO ARNOLD STANG. HE'S AN AWESOME ACTOR AND EVEN HIS PART WAS KORNY. HOW COULD THEY EVER HAVE MADE THIS MOVIE IN THE FIRST PLACE?Hercules in New York IF YOU ARE CRAZY ENOUGH TO BUY IT PLEASE PLAN TO GIVE IT AS A GAG GIFT. IT'S NOT FOR PRESERVING.

I remember catching this movie in the wee hours of the morning (some time around 3am) and laughing. A lot. This movie was a lot of fun; the dubbing made it all the more amusing. I give this movie 4 stars because in terms of being a "good movie" I.E. Oscar material, it is not. I seriously doubt they were going for that in the first place, so does it really matter? Was Commando Oscar material? No - but it was still hilarious, intentional or not. I suggest watching this over pizza with your friends... possibly after staying up for long periods of time. Great fun - I love it.

Hercules introduced the world to Arnold. Who would have known that the man starring in this film would soon be a governor of California? You really can't blame Arnold for starring in this film. The film was a great start for Arnold, and it fits him well. His charming personality that makes him so popular really shows in this film. Every sentence that Arnold utters in this movie is memorable. The acting in the movie is typical of a low budget film. Half the time, it seems like everyone is reading off a cue card somewhere off camera. Most notably Arnold appears to be having difficulty with some dialogs; half the time he stares awkwardly like he's trying to read a cue card somewhere off camera. Apart from the cheesy dialogs, the chorography is comical and unbelievable. Half the time it appears Arnold is just randomly running around doing things for no apparent reason. From stopping a forklift while running away from a gang of thugs, to fighting a bear that is obviously a man in a cheap five dollars costume, the film is non-stop hilarious. Arnold first movie might be considered horrible, but despite all of its shortcomings, I think the movie was well made. It fits Arnold's charming self, and it introduced the world to Arnold as an actor. If anything can be said about Arnold is that he looked huge in this movie. Aside from Conan and perhaps the first Terminator, Arnold was probably the biggest he ever been in Hercules and that made him fit the role well. Personally, I would recommend this film for any true Arnold fan. This is a rare movie and it's a good movie despite the low budget.

This is extremely entertaining. I was particularly tickled by the scenes of Zeus commanding something or other with the sounds of honking cars in the back ground!

The farm ducks are about 1/2 size of a regular rubber ducky. They are cute, but seem a little bit dusty/smudged or something. not a great as I thought they'd be, but I like them

The ducks are adorable, however they do not hold up in water. As soon as they hit the water, it tilts over. Cute, but not a good product.

I bought the DVD Baby MacDonald a Life on the Farm because I knew my 15 month old grandson loved watching the Baby Einstein segments on uTube. He is now almost 18 months old and is still mesmerized by the whole DVD- especially the part where the pigs splash down the slide into the mud! Baby Einstein DVD's are fabulous- I would recommend them for children of all ages because of the beautiful photography, music arrangements and soothing voice of the narrator! ***** 5 stars at our house!

My child loves Baby Einestein's DVDs. One of her favorites is actually (A day on the farm). She likes to sing with the singers and enjoys seeing the animals. Good DVD, which has been modified from its previous version.

My 7 month old son loves this video. He does not really like too many movies, but this is the one that holds his attention. He loves the animal sounds and its a movie that we can all enjoy. I bought it for my 12 month old nephew and he also likes it. Definitely a great purchase!

I read mixed reviews on this one but my grandson is mesmerized. He's 9 months old now but a few weeks ago I put this on for him and he didn't seem too interested. But now that he's a few weeks older, he loves it. I put him in the excersaucer and put this on and he watches while I put on my makeup and fix my hair. Then I'm ready to start the day with him!!!! He especially loves the animal puppets!

The combination of puppets, real life characters and animation seems to fascinate the under two group. I can't tell you how many times we have watched this and sung Old MacDonald had a Farm.... This is a 30 minute DVD with some extras. The kids love it. After you've seen it a dozen times it does seem to get longer and longer! It is a good compliment to the Baby Einstein books. The video is kind of like reading a moving board book so the kids are familiar with how Baby Einstein is set up and what to expect.

Ripen Ripen

Reviews

Shawn is becoming a great songwriter. I think his musicianship gets better each album. Shawn really helps me focus on my need for GOD. Personally I like his live albums better than his studio. But I bought this one and thought I would review it.

Every song is good on this CD. I could listen to it all day-nothing bad to say about it.

Not as good as his last two albums, but The Rider on the White Horse is worth the price of admission alone on this album. You do not get any more spiritual than this when you hear the sound of horses galloping and imagine Jesus riding on His White horse. A haunting rythmic style that makes you look up at the heavens in the middle of sunset watching and waiting for His return. This song alone and Ramblings of a Beggar are worth the price of the CD. Don't miss your chance to be blessed.

Shawn Mcdonalds "Ripen" is an album that soothes the ears and the soul. The lyrics are very real and you can tell he very much draws on personal experience with his songwriting. I do agree with one other reviewer who claims that Shawns songs all have the same kind of sound. Although, I dont think thats a bad thing. The album isnt all over the place. It gives it a sense of unity. Its a very calm album, with only a couple being more upbeat. I gave this album 4 stars, which I really think four and a half is a more proper rating. "Simply Nothing" one of Shawns other albums is my favorite of his. However, either album is well worth the money.

I first discovered Shawn when his music was posted at mp3.com and immediately ordered the two cds they had available at the time, Focal Point and Live. They were amazing. I was thrilled when he got a recording contract and have bought each cd released since. This young man has such insight and depth that you just don't see in contemporary music. I've just been blown away by him from the very beginning and continue to be. In my opinion this is as good as Christian music gets, in fact it's about as good as any music gets.

Silverhill Triangle Head Screwdriver for Roomba and Happy Meal Toys Silverhill Triangle Head Screwdriver for Roomba and Happy Meal Toys

Reviews

Bought this for my six year old grandson so he could change the batteries in his Happy Meal toys. He was most pleased.

Works with openning my TinyLove Symphony in Motion Barnyard Mobile that stopped turning. Unfortunately, after using the screwdriver to open the device, I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. But this screwdriver did what it was meant to do, perfectly... open those darn triangle-head screws.

I looked all over at local hardware stores for a triangle head shaped screwdriver to take apart my son's Playskool Busy Ball Choo Choo Train which broke after a few months. There is one triangle head screw on the inside that required a screwdriver like this to remove. Also appears to work on Chick-Fil-A toys which have a similar sized screw head, although I have not tried it yet. Although I was not able to fix the toy, I have a feeling this screwdriver will get more use in the future on other toys.

this tool was smaller than i expected but it still worked perfectly for the task i needed it for. It arrived with in just days of my placed order. Thanks

I used this screwdriver to open a Roomba battery. Unfortunately, replacing the battery did not fix the Roomba. That is not the screwdriver's fault, though.

This screwdriver works on some rare screws, specifically, ones that require a triangle head. Some of these screws can be found on Roomba Robot Vacuums as well as on most Happy Meal Toys.

Scooby-Doo: The Mystery Begins (Special Edition with Exclusive Bonus Content) Scooby-Doo: The Mystery Begins (Special Edition with Exclusive Bonus Content)

Reviews

The good 1.) the mystery - when it was front and center - was interesting. I was surprised by the villain at the end. Even with Scooby tradition, I didn't see it coming. 2.) Shaggy and Scooby's relationship felt true. If they were going to disregard "A Pup Named Scooby-Doo" at least they kept this bond strong. 3.) Daphne wasn't an airhead. Fred was leader. I kinda enjoyed that Velma didn't know everything but was still smart. The bad. I would have really liked to know that they turned subtext into full text - especially with regards to Fred and Daphne. I am in the vast minority but I have NEVER seen romance between any of the characters. They've always been close friends. Making it text gave this movie several squick moments that I had to ff through. Only at the end did they shake it off - mostly. Why was Shaggy older than the gang? Shaggy may not have been brilliant, but he's never been written as someone who repeated school. Established fact, Shaggy is a gymnast and a track man. Academically speaking, he wouldn't have been on the teams if he couldn't make the grades ("Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?"). Why was his character changed? This is not an insult to Nick Palatas' performance. He was rather exceptional, but it just wasn't Shaggy. The rest of my complaints are more nitpicky - Velma functioning without her glasses? Fred, not driving? He's always been the driver. And his not blond hair? Yes, I would recommend this movie to anyone but would add that they should be cautious for it's not really a beginning to "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?". It's more like a prequel to the live action movies.

My grandkids, three and five, who watch scooby doo some of time when they come over, love watching this movie. They like watching the "real" characters, they don't mind the cartoons either but they like the story line on this one. But give them "Scooby Doo" anytime.

Scooby-doo the mystery begins is a pretty good straight to dvd film. i really enjoyed it. i thought the kid who played shaggy was awesome. so if you a doo fan then you'll love this movie. i recommend this film to everyone

I loved this movie! I thought it was better than the first Scooby-Doo movie that hit theaters with Sarah Gellar and Freddie Prince in it. I thought it was really funny and defintley has that original great Scooby-Doo feel to it. If you are afraid to purchase without watching, then just check the Cartoon Network channel listings often. It originally aired on it before it was released. Watching it is what got this copy sold!

I was very surprised. I liked this movie even better than the first two. It has up and coming actors, and my kids and I liked it a lot. They watched it three times on the first sitting.

Stink (Book #1): The Incredible Shrinking Kid Stink (Book #1): The Incredible Shrinking Kid

Reviews

I am a former elementary teacher & the mom of 3 boys. The boys and I just finished reading this book together--it was our first "Stink" book as I recently purchased the set for them. My older two, ages 5 & 6.5 DEVOURED it! I chuckled along w/the story & the boys literally begged to keep reading, so we finished it in just two nights of our before-bed reading, and immediately started the 2nd book. This is just the type of book I have been wanting for my older son, who reads on a 3rd-4th grade level, but sticks with mostly non-fiction--I wanted a chapter book that was not terribly long, yet also wasn't too easy & I find that this is an incredibly hard stage to find "just right" chapter books at, especially that are appealing to boys. I only wish there were more Stink books, because we will surely be through these in the next week. I hope the author is planning to expand this series like she has the Judy Moody books! I highly recommend these for both boys and girls on a 2nd-4th grade reading level.

My daughter and I read this book together and even rented the audio CD from the library. It was great. I liked how the characters were respectful to adults, not whiny and the humor was just plain FUN. I look forward to having my daughter read every one in this series. Another great point is that the typeface is a bit larger so it gets kids who might otherwise be timid about chapter books to be interested. All in all, it was a great story to read.

my 5 year old son loves to listen to this story on his cd player at bedtime. he can recite the story. cute characters. story is read well.

Stink and the Incredible Shrinking Kid is about a boy that keeps shrinking and he's making comics about it. His sister Judy measures him every morning and that's when he finds out that he's shrinking. If you like Judy Moody books, you will like Stink. If you like fiction, this will be a good book for you.

Hi I'm Connor. Do you like Stink Moody? If you do you'll love this book. It is about a kid who is shrinking when he is at school. But I'm not going to tell you anything else, not one little bit not even half. But I can tell you this It is great for grades 2 and 3 and your kids will love it. So go buy it.

Judy Moody Gets Famous! (Book #2) Judy Moody Gets Famous! (Book #2)

Reviews

My six year old and I just finished this book. Wow! I had chills. The best yet. Highly recommended!

Judy Moody Gets Famous is a great book. Judy is mad because Jessica Finch her rival wins spelling. With Stink, Rocki, and Frank's help she gets famous in many ways. A couple of ways are that she helps a hospital and wins a pet contest.

I recently did a make-over party and handed these out as favors. Thought this would get the kids off to a good start on their summer reading program. The kids loved them and the story is very thought provoking. Shows kindness to others.

My kids have all Judy Moody and Stink books. They love them, and I know for the fact that they help kids who struggle with reading in 3rd grade. They are easy to read and have a good story, are funny and appealing to that age group. A must have!

This book was good. My favorite part was when she hits the teacher's elbow. That made me laugh!

Mother Goose Rhymes (Finger Puppet Storybooks) Mother Goose Rhymes (Finger Puppet Storybooks)

Reviews

Reviewed by Conner Aguren(age 3) and Mom for Reader Reviews (10/07) You can bring these classic Mother Goose rhymes to life with felt puppets that Velcro to a storyboard glove. Rhymes illustrated in the book include: Mary had a little lamb; Pop goes the weasel; Little Miss Muffet; The cat and the fiddle; Hickory, dickory, dock; and Humpty Dumpty. My son liked putting the story characters on the glove. He also liked talking about some of the details in the illustrations, such as "Is that horse going to save Humpty?" The last two pages were a story scene made of felt, so the story characters could also stick on these pages. This made it easier to play out the stories then using the glove, as well as make up new stories. Parent's Comment: It is a shame that this book, "Mother Goose Rhymes," only provided characters from four of the six rhymes. My son wondered where the characters were for "Pop Goes the Weasel" and "Hickory, Dickory, Dock."

OMG! This is the BEST! I don't even like McDonald's Filet-O_Fish's yet this fish and the dude's in the commercial had me rolling off the couch. What a catchy tune...and the looks on the guys faces as Frankie sings = priceless. I even had my 10 y/o daughter sing the tune into my cell phone so I could set it as the ringtone! Simply awesome...this fish is a must have.

I remember the first time I saw this commercial I almost fell off the couch laughing. What can I say, it's a fish that sings the Filet O' Fish jingle. Is it a must have? Not really, but it's great to annoy family and friends who hate the commercial. Works for me. Recommended.

My husband and I purchased this item as a gift for my son on his 2nd birthday. He was completely thrilled with it. We set it up for all the kids to use at his birthday party and everyone loved it! There were kids from 1-8 years old playing in it and everyone was having a blast. The kids even learned to clean up the balls when they came out of the pit. I will say that we bought the one that comes with 200 balls and it was nowhere near enough balls. I went to walmart and bought 200 more, and a friend of ours brought another 100 as a gift. 500 balls is what we have in the pit now and it's perfect! My husband and I (not at the same time) can also both get in the pit and play with our son. This is probably the best gift my son has ever received. We are keeping it set up in our living room for now, as he asks for it when we take it down.

This is what my 3.5 year old just cried from inside the ball pit. Not something you want to hear from your child... I eagerly awaited this toy's arrival and since I opened it 1 hour ago, I want to scream at the manufacturer: Why won't it stay up? Why does it keep collapsing on my 2 little ones (aged 3.5 and 1.5)? How could I even think of leaving the room to answer the phone? Why does it have no wall supports to keep it from collapsing, or sand bags to secure it from the bottom up?? This is a HUGE disappointment. Sure, the kids are laughing - they don't realize how dangerous it is. It has collapsed on them each time the get in, and they are like sardines in a can as the bendable walls keep folding in. Don't buy this toy- I am a very open mom, not one who hovers and this toy WORRIES me. Not to mention the balls keep falling out, and I'd like to turn it on its roof because that end is a larger diameter, but there is a hole in it ( for the balls to go in? ) and the walls would still collapse on top of my kids. How can anyone like this???? I'm sending it back tomorrow - what a HUGE disappointment. This seems like a cruel joke, created by people who don't have kids....

Exactly what I was looking for. A great ballpit that can be folded up and put away if needed. The doors have little ledges so that the balls don't fall out. My girls LOVE it and so do I.

This did not hold up well at all. We have one child and the day after Christmas the stitching started to tear. Would not recommend.

I ordered this ball pit for my boys (ages 1 and 4) for Christmas, and they love it! We have about 250 balls in there right now, and it's perfect. They have lots of fun!

2008 Mcdonalds Madame Alexander Wizard of Oz Dolls Set Of 12 Figure 2008 Mcdonalds Madame Alexander Wizard of Oz Dolls Set Of 12 Figure

Reviews

I purchased these dolls for my 5 year-old niece for Christmas. She is a major Wizard of OZ fan. When I tried to find the dolls, all I could really find was either very expensive or these "Happy Meal" dolls. I was very hesitant to purchase these dolls as her Christmas gift as we've all seen what comes out of the Happy Meals - what can you expect for a meal and toy under $5?!! These dolls were such a surprise - they are wonderful - the quality and detail of the dolls are excellent. Of all her Christmas gifts (and she is very spoiled), these dolls were her favorite gift. I never write reviews but am doing so for others like me who might be nervous/skeptical about purchasing happy meal dolls - these are great!

I bought this for my granddaughter for Christmas. She is 4 yrs. old and is obsessed with The Wizard of Oz movie. This is the first "toy" that I could find that a 4 yr. old would enjoy playing with pertaining to Dorothy and all the other characters of the movie. The dolls are of the highest quality, their eyes open and shut, and the outfits are adorable. To get the whole collection for this price, it is a great deal. Of course, one is tempted not to open the packages and save it as a collector would, but you cannot imagine the joy it brings to the child!! I bought a doll-sized suitcase in which she can store the entire collection. The dolls are about 4-5 inches long. Their legs, heads, arms, (and eyes) all move. They even stand up without falling over. Madame Alexander put forth a great effort to make such beautiful little dolls for the McDonald's Happy Meal promotion.

I bought this for my daughter for her third birthday. She is obsessed with The Wizard of Oz and it is VERY difficult to find toys, not expensive collectibles, with the Wizard of Oz theme. Even with the postage, this set was reasonably priced and so far, four days later, holding up to constant play. If you are looking for exact replicas of either the movie or the original illustrations in the book, these are not it. They are typical Madame Alexander faces, all staring straight ahead and fairly expressionless. My daughter doesn't care. She is just thrilled to have the cast, in costume, in her own home. The nice thing is, there are twelve characters so the whole story is right there ready to be recreated and acted out. My daughter loves these and my six and nine year old have been playing with her. I was hoping with the 75th anniversary of the movie there would have been more affordable options out there for Oz toys. So far, this is pretty much it.

As the Grandma of a 4 year old who loves the "Wizard de Boz" (Wizard of Oz), I could not afford to get her the Barbie dolls at $[...] each. Here, I got 12 of the movies' most popular figures and in a size that she can handle. She was screaming with excitement. Thanks Amazon. You are the Best!

The product was purchased for a gift for a six-year old. The dolls came packaged and brand new, as promised.
