Pound Puppies
Pound Puppies was a toyline sold by Tonka in the 1980s. It later inspired an animated TV special, an animated TV series, and a feature film. Shipments of the toys over five years generated sales of $300 million in 35 countries.
The puppies have a variety of plush stuffed dog dolls with floppy ears and droopy eyes. They came in a variety of colors, some with spots. Each one comes in a carrying case with an adoption certificate. Smaller versions were also created (approximately 5 inches (13 cm) long), and a line of cats called Pound Purries was also released. Each authentic puppy had a heart shaped emblem near its tail that sported a "PP" logo with either a dog (Puppies) or cat (Purries) peeking around it. In 1987, Hardee's restaurants also offered a series of Pound Puppies with their Children's Meals. In a revival that occurred in the mid-late 90s, a third line of toys called "Pound Ponies" was sold.

Merial Frontline Plus Flea and Tick Control for Dogs and PuppiesReviewsI already knew the quality of the named item. I trusted Amazon with it's vendors to deliver quality professionalism. This vendor did not live up to Amazon's reputation. His shipping took forever & when I emailed him 2 times, he never & still has not responded to me. I would NEVER use this vendor again & would look for Amazon to consider action against him. This vendor makes me leery to consider another vendor, tho this is the first bad one (and last). Seems to be just as effective as what I get from the vet, but at a much better price. What can I say about a Frontline dog collar? It fit fine, seems to be working and most importantly, came in a timely manner. well, I have a large dog and it has been difficult to keep him flea free. Frontline has been the best I found so far but my dog still has some fleas on him that I find crawling around. He still scratches a lot. I am going to try the competition and see if that is any better. I was using Frontline for my cats too and they still had fleas. i switched last week and they are FREE!! So now I am hoping that I can find something better for my dog too. pros: My dog never got sick from the application cons: Still has fleas, leaves an oily residue on his neck for a good 24 hours or so after application. I am a cheapskate at heart and have tried several other products, but disappointment always followed. Trying to save money by using cheaper products not only ends costing more money but puts your pet at a risk of the dangerous infections that they can get while not being properly safeguarded. If the dog has a flea problem when you start this protection it would be best to keep them outside for 3 days while you treat the inside of your house. The fleas go nuts and bite everybody during this time. If you follow the directions and keep treatment up monthly they will never get infected again. Our two dogs way 75 lbs and 85 lbs. Zuke's Mini Naturals Dog TreatsReviewsI purchased the chicken flavor. When I opened the bag, the smell was very unpleasant. I offered one to my dog and he wouldn't eat it. The entire contents went into the trash. Training usually requires lots of positive reinforcement (read: treats) for young dogs, so these treats are the perfect bite size rewards to use when training or rewarding your dog. They do give off an unpleasant scent when you open the bag, but hopefully you aren't the one eating them so this won't matter. And for those of you label-readers, these things are made with all-natural ingredients that are great for your dog. My dogs love this product, they'll do anything you say to earn it. Great product!!! I use these to train my dog. As others have pointed out, they smell awful. Dogs love them though. Not a lot of calories so you don't have to worry about your dog getting fat and sluggish either. In fact, I break them up into two parts to get the most out of the bag. My border terrier loves these and they are the perfect size for her. Merial Frontline Top Spot Flea and Tick Control for Dogs and PuppiesReviewsWe had a terrible time this past winter with fleas. I had used Frontline Plus to try to control them and it worked, but it is a rather expensive product, so I am trying Frontline Top Spot to see if it works as well. Time will ell. The seller of this product shipped quickly. I would buy from him again. My dog is almost nine years old and I've always used this product. Never used anything else. He plays outside a lot and he's never had fleas or ticks. I would recommend Frontline Top Spot to anyone. My girls haven't gotten any fleas or ticks since I'm using Frontline. It's been 6 years now. I received the product in a timely manner and used it on my puppy. thanks this product is great but make sure you didn't want the plus, which also kills the flea eggs. this one does NOT kill flea eggs! i bought it by accident, the product is great for what it does but just be careful you aren't looking for frontline plus which also kills the eggs and larva. Pound Puppies and the Legend of Big PawReviewsI religiously watched this movie as a kid and just recently decided to track it down. Smart decision on my behalf, pound puppies and the legend of big paw is full of memorable characters and adorable songs. My favorite is big paw's debut "come on give me half a chance now cause i'm a puppy too" lyrics. Basically, this movie is about the "scone bone" which allows humans and animals to talk to each other. "McNasty" steals the bone in order to rule the world and breaks it in half, making it impossible for the humans to communicate with the animals (puppy power). Anyway, it's a super cute movie any kid would be lucky to have! I am so excited to finally have this on dvd im collecting cartoon's from when I was little. This cartoon was on a video of old cartoons my grandpa taped for before he got sick and died i must have wached it a hundred times before my grandma lost it the movie is as good as I remember and brings back lots of good memorys. Now if they would put the pound puppy series on dvd that would rule. My son (age 3) is a huge fan of the Pound Puppies so I was very happy when I found this movie. He watches it almost everyday. This is a great kids movie! I love this movie when I was a kid! This movie is a classic, filled with adventures and music! I recommend any kids to adults(to those to watched this) to watch it! Its worth having if you're a pound puppies fan! I loved this movie when I was a kid. It is a great movie. When my niece and nephew saw a pound puppy in the store it reminded me of the movie that I had watched when i was five years old. Came home and youtubed it so i could see if I still remembered the title and if it matched the movie I remembered. Shortly after realizing it was I searched stores around my city that have older movies, ebay, kijiji, and then my best friend that had watched the movie with me as a child had told me that she had bought a copy of it a while ago on Amazon for her daughter. I loved this movie when I was younger. It is a great movie, and to be honest I still enjoy watching it to this day with my niece and nephew. Average Rating: |

TV Special
In 1985, Hanna-Barbera made an animated television special, which aired in syndication that October, paired with Star Fairies. Characters in the television special included the Fonzie-styled leader Cooler (voiced by Dan Gilvezan), the cheerleader Bright Eyes (voiced by Adrienne Alexander), and a dog with a very nasal like New York accent known only as "The Nose" (voiced by Jo Anne Worley), and the goofy inventor aptly named Howler (voiced by Frank Welker), who can only howl.
A female dog from a wealthy aristocratic family named Violet Vanderbuck (voiced by [Gail Matthis]) is being pursued by dognappers when she is picked up and taken to the city pound. There, she meets the gang and discovers their mission of uniting themselves up with homes. The film plot centers on Violet (whom Cooler insists on referring to as "Sam") attempting to reunite with her family, ultimately succeeding. Two other dogs appeared in the special. They were the upperclass snob Barkerville (voiced by Alan Oppenheimer) and the garbage can-digging Scrounger(voiced by Ron Paulino), who later appeared in the season 2 episode Garbage Night: The Musical. The three of them appeared briefly in a flashback in the episode Wagga Wagga.
This special is available on a DVD which comes with certain Pound Puppies toys.
The characters Bright Eyes (voiced by Adrienne Alexander), Howler (voiced by Frank Welker), and The Nose/Nose Marie (voiced by Jo Anne Worley) would be voiced by different actors in the regular series, although Adreinne Alexander and Frank Welker would return as Brattina and Catgut respectively.
