PostHeaderIcon Batman, The Dark Knight

Batman (originally referred to as the Bat-Man and still referred to at times as the Batman) is a fictional comic book superhero co-created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger (although only Kane receives official credit) and published by DC Comics. The character first appeared in Detective Comics #27 (May 1939). Batman's secret identity is Bruce Wayne, a wealthy industrialist, playboy, and philanthropist. Witnessing the murder of his parents as a child, Wayne trains himself to physical and intellectual perfection and dons a bat-themed costume in order to fight crime. Batman operates in the fictional Gotham City, assisted by various supporting characters including his sidekick Robin and his butler Alfred Pennyworth, and fights an assortment of villains influenced by the characters' roots in film and pulp magazines. Unlike most superheroes, he does not possess any superpowers; he makes use of intellect, detective skills, science and technology, wealth, physical prowess, and intimidation in his war on crime.

Great Batman stickers! Very easy to peel and stick. They are able to peel back off the wall and re-use as well! Very cool!

These appliques do not have a solid white background, but a translucent, almost clear background, so the wall color shows through the picture. It's worst on the whites in the picture, which only appear white on the removable backing because the backing is white, but it also affects the lighter colors. These look okay on a light colored wall, but I'd avoid placing these on dark walls. (Note that the giant appliques do have a solid white background and look much better.) They did maintain their peel-and-stick properties during several moves, are easy to handle, and are made with a good quality (not flimsy) vinyl-like material.

As of today, I haven't received the fleece blanket I ordered over a month ago. On 01/13/10, I sent PatProducts an email (via Amazon.com), and as of today, I STILL haven't heard anything regarding my item. At this point, I want a refund!

This blanket is an absolute piece of junk. Thinner than a paper towel is right! Shouldn't even qualify as a blanket. The picture is not even the same! Any favorable reviews on this item have to be fraudulent. No one in their right mind would give this more than 1 star.Batman Fleece Blanket

I purchased this for use at my son's school for his naptime cot. It's absolutely perfect. The size is great for his cot when folded in half - it would work great on a single bed, too. It's very soft and of course my son loves the picture. Good quality, especially for the price.

Go to a fabric store and buy fleece that's thicker and of better quality, this is thinner than a paper towel

Yeah, you can buy these for a lower price at the local haunt. However, you can't find this nice of a picture design anywhere else. Most of the ones in the local stores are cheesy. This one is cool. It was a gift for someone else's kid who is a batman fan. It was a total hit.

This score is a great one. They started the current Batman film franchise and got two great composers. This soundtrack definitely has many great songs. This review will give you an idea of what the score sounds like by giving you the details of three of the varied styles found in this soundtrack. "Eptesicus" gives the theme for the Batman Begins film, and has a lot of strings with occasional brass. It builds up from a quiet song into the full fledged Batman theme for the movie. "Lasiurus" is a song that I think reflects on Rha's al Ghul. It has his woodwind theme at the beginning, but moves into a deep, string filled piece. It is very quiet and beautiful music. This soundtrack also has the song "Molossus." This song is for some of the more action packed scenes. It has drums that have an alomst continuous beat, and various other instruments that enter and exit randomly to make it exciting and fast paced. This score gets its five stars for its variety and overall just great themes and music. I recommend this soundtrack to anyone who enjoys Batman or soundtracks in general.

This is a large collection of TV Themes from some well known and loved TV shows from the past. A few of these(such as The Dukes of Hazzards) you don't see often in other TV theme collections. About 40 percent of these are non-broadcast originals, which is cool; but I prefer the original broadcast ones. Some re-records are pretty good, some sound pretty bad. Overall a mixed bag, with a little here and there to please most people.

I guess it's better than NO date as in most of the mp3 releases of tracks recorded before 1990... About half of these series premiered AFTER 1959!

For those who want the original TV broadcast versions, this compilation is probably not for you. But then they make no claim that they're anything but a collection of TV themes; some broadcast (Maude, etc.) and some commercial (Dynasty, etc.). So, I give this collection 4 stars for it's honesty.

This CD is just as I had anticipated from other reviews--very enjoyable and nostalgic. I kept hitting the replay buttom for a few of my favorites and sang them numerous times in a row! My only complaint is that I wish some of the tunes were longer in length.

Used this CD to play a game...We work with a lot of Senior Citizens and had them listen to the first bit of a song and had them guess which show it went to. They loved it!

The music is excellent, but the soft pieces should have been on one (or two) of the CDs with the loud ones on others--I kept having to change the volume all the time, which is tiresome. The talking and lift off sounds as regards Apollo 13 were unnecessary and annoying. I doubt that I would have purchased this set had I been able to hear it all at one time.

This is simply a superb collection of movie music. Eric Kunzel and The Cincinatti Pops Orchestra take the listener on a fantastic musical journey. Close your eyes and listen as the music spirits you away to the imaginary world of the cinema. This collection was just what I was looking for in a movie music package. The recording is pristine, the music is involving, and the price for all of this entertainment is very, very reasonable! 4 Cds for under $25.00! There isn't a bad cut in the package. I am the 11th reviewer of this collection - all 5 star ratings. In other words, you know this collection is a winner! Buy it, sit back, and enjoy the fantastic music offered to you in this collection.

Bought this for my parents. They have enjoyed it and even though you may not like the movie, the music is generally good. A lot of music for the money.

The Ultimate Movie Music Collection is exactly what the name says. An amazing job done by the Cincinnati Pop Orchestra and a CD I listen to almost daily. Some of the songs are just so powerful that you have to listen to them on the best sound system you have nice and loud and just close your eyes and get swept away! Absolutely Amazing. My 2 1/2 year-old daughter cannot get enough of this one! By far, the best Elmo video there is....

I'll have to admit I don't really sit through these DVDs, just pop them in when I'm trying to entertain my grandson and it's too late or cold to go outside. He seems to enjoy them and Elmo has always been a safe choice.

My 2 yr old granddaughter LOVES this Elmo video! We usually watch it 2 or 3 times in a row. She has learned all the dances and will dance and sing along. It's a cute one, I'd highly recommend it!

My daughter just turned 3 and loves Elmo! She really likes this DVD! I'd say it's a good buy for your child if they are an Elmo fan!

My son is 3 months old and is very entertained by this video. He looks at the video and coes with a few arm and hand movements. I find that the video is a fun tool for learning and recommend it for young children.

It sure would be nice if someone would put out more of these old T.V. shows on DVD's. (Like Batman, Hazel, Green Acres, Here Come the Brides, Petticoat Junction, to name a few.) Some shows have one or maybe two seasons out and then they quit. I for one would like more seasons put out because it sure is better than what is on T.V. today.

I am a big fan of Christopher Nolan's recent and much more serious films about Batman. They feature brilliant performances by nuanced actors. But, I also feel like those movies tend to bombard the viewer with a pessimistic worldview which can be very unhealthy if unmediated by good philosophy. This film, featuring Adam West, Burt Ward, Lee Meriwether, Cesar Romero and Burgess Meredith is simply good fun with a twist on the Batman/Catwoman attraction. Originally a theatrical spin-off of the 1960's television show, "Batman" this movie overcomes a cliched plot driven both by the style of the series and conventional wisdom surrounding the supposed juvenile qualities of comic books. (Lest we forget, it was released in 1966, twelve years before Christopher Reeve's wonderful "Superman" gave birth to the mature production of comic book movies). Give this film a chance. It is very earnestly put together, and Adam West still speaks fondly of his days as Batman. It has earned an irrevocable place among pop presentations of the Batman character, and provides a respite from the gloom of the contemporary Batman films.

There was something that was truly magical and unique about the 1960's, a time when network television was a major conduit for cultural experience, and fad after fad seemed to explode on the scene. With its campy, comedic, take on the classic comic book character, zany super villains, and unique two episode a week format, Batman quickly became a cultural phenomenon, when it ran on ABC in the spring of 1966. Making stars of Adam West as Batman, and Burt Ward as Robin. 20th Century Fox, and producer William Dozier, actually brought two classic characters from the 1930's to television that year. Besides Batman, The Green Hornet, a classic crimefighter who originated in radio serials, also ran on ABC for one season, starring Van Williams as the Hornet, and Bruce Lee as Kato. It is remarkable that neither Batman, or The Green Hornet, is not yet available on DVD. Batman: The Movie was released in the summer of 1966, after the first season of Batman had already aired, and was basically an extension of the series. The characters, style, and settings, were already familiar to audiences at the time. The movie got into detail about things like the Batcave, stately Wayne Manor, and Bruce Wayne's personal life. Exotic modes of transportation, the Batcopter, and ultracool Batboat, thrilled and delighted fans. It was a brilliant idea to pit the caped crusaders against four supervillains. Together, The Penguin (Burgess Meredith), The Riddler (Frank Gorshin), The Joker (Cesar Romero), and The Catwoman (Lee Meriwether), made up the 'United Underworld'. These classic characters from the comics, had already made the transition to television, thanks to the superb performances of Meredith, Gorshin, Romero, and Julie Newmar during the first season of Batman. Newmar however, was unavailable to play The Catwoman. Sexy, svelte, and a former Miss America, Lee Meriwether (Time Tunnel, Barnaby Jones) was the purrfect choice for the role as the feline villainess. The film also features regular characters, Alfred the butler (Alan Napier), Commissioner Gordon (Neil Hamilton), Chief O'Hara (Stafford Repp), and Aunt Harriet (Madge Blake). The plot is rather silly, and largely designed to showcase the film's many action sequences. The United Underworld have kidnapped Commodore Schmidlapp (Reginald Denny), to get his invention, a dehydrator ray. The device can remove all the water from a human body, a leave only a pile of powder. Hoping to lure Batman to the crooks dockside hideout, The Catwoman, in disguise as Miss Kitka, a Russian reporter, gets involved with Bruce Wayne, setting him up to be kidnapped, and taken on a night flight on one of the Penguin's flying umbrellas. Batman makes a memorable, and exasperating attempt to dispose of a bomb on a pier. The Penguin masquerading as Schmidlapp, is taken to the Batcave with five dehydrated crooks who are destroyed, when they are rehydrated with heavy water. The villains proceed with their plot, and dehydrate the members of the United World Headquarters, and head out to sea in the Penguin's sub. The Dynamic Duo force the sub to the surface, and finish off the crooks in a furious battle. Adam West and Burt Ward get a heavy duty workout, on the land, in the air, and at sea. The film made them even bigger stars. Lee Meriwether rocks, in a dual role. And Burgess Meredith is magnificent, as the cranky Penguin. The multitude of extras in this edition is fantastic. In one commentary track, West and Ward, share some warm and humorous remembrances. Writer Lorenzo Semple has a more detached view of the film, and shares his thoughts in a second commentary track. There are also a number of excellent featurettes covering various facets of the film, the TV series, and the Batmania phenomenon. The interactive Batmobile feature is highly detailed, though it takes a while to go through. The whole package is delightful, and looks fantastic on blu-ray. The price is very reasonable, and is simply a must have for any Batfan of the 1966 program, particularly as the release of original series does not appear imminent.

I bought this for my three year old because he likes Batman and the new Batman movies are not appropriate for his age. He loves this movie and has watched it over and over again. I wish they would release the 1966 series since he enjoys this movie so much.

I saw this movie when it first came out in theatres. This movie never ceases to amaze me. Although the TV series was intended for youths, it did very well in the ratings amoungst adults - including myself ater it went into sydnication. I bought this DVD a few weeks ago and I still laugh at this campy movie. The DVD includes an additional track on the movie that a person can turn on that has Adam West and Burt Ward doing an audio commentary. Although I am much older now I still laugh at the silliness of this movie. Is there anything that Batman does not carry in his utility belt. And shark repellant (and other unlikely sprays) in a helicopter? There's something you don't see every day but I strong recommend seeing this movie.

Batman Forever [VHS] Batman Forever [VHS]

The Dark Knight of Gotham City confronts a dastardly duo: Two-Face and the Riddler. Formerly District Attorney Harvey Dent, Two-Face incorrectly believes Batman caused the courtroom accident which left him disfigured on one side; he has unleashed a reign of terror on the good people of Gotham. Edward Nygma, computer-genius and former employee of millionaire Bruce Wayne, is out to get the philanthropist; as The Riddler he perfects a device for draining information from all the brains in Gotham, including Bruce Wayne's knowledge of his other identity. Batman/Wayne is/are the love focus of Dr. Chase Meridan. Former circus acrobat Dick Grayson, his family killed by Two-Face, becomes Wayne's ward and Batman's new partner Robin the Boy Wonder. Batman Forever is a fantastic installation into the Batman series. It's got action, romance, drama, comedy, and great sets. And a fantastic soundtrack. It's a good movie and should be seen by every Batman fan.

Batman [Val Kilmer] comes back to face Two-Face [Tommy Lee Jones] and The Riddler [Jim Carrey] who've aligned in an attempt to take over Gotham City with a damaging brain device. Along the way, Batman meets Dick Grayson [Chris O Donnel] who eventually becomes Batman's sidekick Robin. While Carrey is a perfect choice for The Riddler and Kilmer is ok as Bruce Wayne/Batman [Despite having blonde hair], This installment in the series suffers greatly from its poor story, Tommy Lee Jones' annoying performance as Two-Face, Chris O Donnel's equally annoying performance as the annoying-in-general Robin [Batman should always work alone], and the very campy direction that new director Joel Schumacher decided to take with this sequel. Like the 60's series, Batman and Robin spew boring one-liners, Robin acts silly, and the whole atmosphere seems too colorful. Another thing that dogs this film down is the horrible score by Elliot Goldenthal [Elfman should've been brought back to conduct the score]. The movie as a whole is overblown and too hollywoodized for a Batman film. Gotham City here looks much too glamorous as opposed to the dark, gothic look of Gotham in the first two films. The action scenes are tolerable at best, But the movie ultimately brings shame to Batman's legacy. And Nicole Kidman's Chase Meridian character serves no purpose whatsoever [Chase was never even a character in the Batman comics before or since]. If you're a fan of the 60's Batman tv show, You might like this movie. But, If you're like me and prefer a dark version of Batman, Skip this one and especially disregard the next film, Batman and Robin.

This is a great film simply because it combines two of my most favorite things Batman and Jim Carey. This film features the dynamic duo, Batman and Robin and the Riddler who is played by jim Carey. Even though this is a relativley serios movie Jim Carey still manages to be funny with his Ace Ventura style commedy. Some parts of this movie are cheesy, like the batmobile, because it was made in the 90's. But I still recommend you add it to your collection.

Batman, what happened? This film and its sequel are classic examples of when the studio gets involved. After the breakout success and positive reviews of the first film, which was dark and moody, the sequel was given mixed reviews but was still a success. Just not as big as the first. Burton did have a story treatment in mind for a third film, coincidentally also involving the Riddler, but Warners didn't want him to return. Instead, we get Joel Schumacher, who claimed he's wanted to do an adaptation of Batman: Year One and claims to be a fan of the character. In my opinion, if this was so, he wouldn't have put nipples on the Bat-suit (saying he was inspired by statues of the Greek gods) and, even though he probably was pressured into it, making the film more like the 60s Adam West series (though a favorite of mine, in this day and age, the campy image cannot work). I do like Val Kilmer as Batman/Bruce Wayne, as we actually get to see more of Wayne outside the costume and his emotional struggle to have a romance with Nicole Kidman. Chris O'Donnell wouldn't have been my first choice to play Robin. He complains to much and comes across more as a brat. And when he's trying to leave Wayne Manor after Gordon leaves him there, Wayne is practically begging Grayson to stay (no offense to anyone but Batman and Robin have been trying to escape the whole gay thing since the 1950s and putting that kind of innudendo and having a gay director at the helm doesn't help the matter). Billy Dee Williams' (who played Harvey Dent in the first film) has been paid off (a clause in his contract stated he could return as Two-Face) and is replace by Tommy Lee Jones, who plays the character way over the top. This is where the animated version tops live-action. The characterization (again Jones played him over the top but the script is to blame as well), is way off; referring to himself in the plural and repeatedly flipping his coin to get the result he wants instead of being psychologically bound to what the coin lands on. Jim Carrey, though a favorite actor of mine, doesn't work as the Riddler for me. Again, this is where the animated version tops live-action. Riddler comes across as a carbon-copy of the Joker. Instead of playing the animated version/comics version of a subtly psychotic criminal genius who can't help himself but leave riddles to his crimes, we pretty much get Frank Gorshin's interpretation; a highly-energetic giggling "menace" (though Gorshin's version was clearly more insane than Carrey's, just listen to that laugh). And Riddler's scheme comes across as something the Mad Hatter would do. If I had done this film, Riddler would've been the established criminal and Mad Hatter would've been the obsessed Wayne Enterprises employee (much like his B:TAS debut episode minus being obsessed Wayne). Nicole Kidman is alright as Chase Meridian (and I can actually believe her as a doctor and I like better in this as this was before she became an over-rated Oscar-winning actor), but she keeps on jumping back and forth between Bruce and Batman. In the first two films, Vicki Vale was attracted to Bruce and Catwoman was attracted to both. I don't think a doctor would have that much fixation. Michael Gough is still good as Alfred and Pat Hingle is actually in this movie! The story is OK but I think they could've done better. Two-Face's attack on Batman in the Batmobile makes no sense as it doesn't add to the story (just an excuse to show some explosions and the car driving up the wall) and a lot of stuff (like the Sonar suit [which, for a prototype, doesn't do anything], Bat-Wing and Bat-Boat) come across as nothing more than toy advertisements. The production design of this movie is terrible! While Burton's design had more style, this is blown out of proportion. With Burton, Gotham was a dark, mysterious city that Batman could work in and use to his advantage. In this, Gotham is lit up like a Christmas tree and you can see Batman coming for miles away, especially in the Batmobile. Now to the music, Elliot Goldenthal me-wait a minute! Elliot Goldenthal? Why does that name sound famil-oh my God! Its the man who screwed up the Beatles! So we meet again Mr. Goldenthal, what kind of musical travesty do you have in "score" for us this time? Well for starters, he throws out his musical superior's (Danny Elfman) classic theme which can be interpreted as heroic and dark and we get...a theme that's not as memorable. In fact his score is anything but memorable. He just composed a few pieces of music and then tracked his music for the rest of the film. Well, below-par music for a sub-par film.

This is where the series began to veer off course. After Batman Returns failed to make the ridiculous amount Warner Bros. hoped it would (it actually did very well), the studio blamed Burton for making it too dark and violent for the little kiddies. They wanted a lighter Batman that was more family friendy (doesn't that sound stupid?) Well, this is what you get: Cheesy dialogue, sets that are too bright anf flashy for OZ, and a Director who values eye candy (if you can even call it that) over plot. So why did I give this film 4 stars? Two reasons: Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones. The movie is worth seeing for their performances. Also, Chris O Donell is a decent Robin, but I think that story (like most of the Batman saga) will be handled better once they get to it in the current Dark Kmight saga. Warner Bros. got lucky here. There's something worth watching in this film. Unfortunately, the next installment didn't have any redeeming qualities that could save it, and thus Batman died....until 2005, when a much more talented Director showed the world what a Batman movie should be.

This knife is obviously not a pocket knife, but it comes out of the box jus as sharp. It looks much better than the picture makes it appear. I bought it just because of the cool shape. I bought this as a collection. Abviously I like this movie itself very much. Audio and video rating of this blu ray is fantastics. Go for it if you like this movie.

This is one of the best movies available for the Blu Ray format. The sound is excellent, and the picture is oh, so sweet. Heath Ledger gives the performance of a lifetime, and unfortunately it would be his last. The re-imagining of Batman by Christopher Nolan is one of the best things, if not THE best, ever to happen to the bat. If you have not seen this movie, do not hesitate! Buy it now! You won't regret it.

Love this movie! Even with shipping this deal was still cheaper than what we would have paid anywhere else. Would buy again!

The Dark Knight is definitely not for small children, but grownups who enjoy Batman and appreciate a different dark moody feel. For some reason Robin was not in the movie, but a lonely lovelorn Batman beset by tragedy. Batman (Christian Bale), upsets the Gotham City Mob. There is also a new D.A., HaRvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), with blond hair and blue eyes and idealistic view on fighting crime. The Joker (Heath Ledger) appears and wants the Gotham City criminals to work with him and kill Batman. Ledger does a fantastic performance as the Joker and provides some wry jokes as he devils his victims. However, he is also frightening and hard to catch - one step in front of the Police. Maggie Gyllenhaal plays the role of Rachel Dawes and Dent and Batman both love her. There are plenty of action sequences and the special effects - especially Dent's face after an accident - are well done. The film is dark but the artistic sets and cinema is excellent.

This item was exactly as described, and was received right on time. Would definitely order again from this seller.

The Dark Knight arrives with tremendous hype (best superhero movie ever? posthumous Oscar for Heath Ledger?), and incredibly, it lives up to all of it. But calling it the best superhero movie ever seems like faint praise, since part of what makes the movie great--in addition to pitch-perfect casting, outstanding writing, and a compelling vision--is that it bypasses the normal fantasy element of the superhero genre and makes it all terrifyingly real...

Put aside all the campy gadgets and poor humor, trade the glossy chicmobile in for a ...black....tank, forget the "BAM! SOCK! AND POW!" cue cards, add a dash of Morgan Freeman, a cup of Katie Holmes, an exceptionally English Michael Caine, Liam Neeson as an uncommonly convincing villain, and Christian Bale as the most believable Batman ever and you have the perfect recipe for the redemption of what Batman always should have been! What makes any movie great and worth watching is story - Christopher Nolan and company knocked this one out of the park. It is a rare occasion for me to buy a movie for my collection at home. It HAS to have a great story, it has to make me forget I'm watching a movie, it has to make me care about the characters, it has to have a great score, it has to take me from the quiet burbs to some great locations and it has to be something I want to watch over and over again ~ This one came home with no reservation ~ To quote Dr. Schneider (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade) This movie had me "giddy as a school boy!" from start to finish. To quote the guys that get paid to say this kind of stuff, "Two Thumbs Way Up!"

Terrific introduction to the Dark Knight legend. This movie and its sequel assured that Mr Chris Nolan did the best job ever with the caped crusader movies. I already own it in DVD but had to buy the BD version. Specially with a less than $10 price, it is a MUST buy.

It was about time we saw the original roots and essence of Batman; what made him become Batman? What did the Bat represent? All other Batman movies had certain flaws: The first two Batman movies (Batman and Batman Returns by Tim Burton) focused mainly on the enemy instead of the Dark Knight itself. The previous two were just garbage. We see here a Bruce Wayne with fear - something that you didn't see in the previous cape crusader films - and his internal side and reaction towards his parent's death. A more focus on the man without the mask and suit. With an important cast that delivered exceptional performances; Gary Oldman, Cillian Murphy, Michael Caine, Christian Bale and Liam Neeson (who in my opinion gave the best performance in the film); Batman Begins was the Batman movie we were all waiting for.

Excellent movie! Great acting especially Heath Ledger "RIP." The action can be a little overwhelming sometimes. I was not too found of Christian Bale's cheesy batman voice or the fact that katey holmes character was replaced by a woman that looks nothing like her and is ugly. Overall this is a great movie though.

Needless to say, this movie is a fantastic origin story of one of the most widely known icons in American popular culture. The disc itself is a must have for blu-ray owners as it is full of the obligatory behind the scenes features. It is an absolute must have for Batman fans as well as movie-buffs. Here's hoping that there will not be a rerelease with even more features, but unfortunately you never really know.

Batman Begins discards the previous four films in the series and recasts the Caped Crusader as a fearsome avenging angel. That's good news, because the series, which had gotten off to a rousing start under Tim Burton, had gradually dissolved into self-parody by 1997's Batman & Robin...

Superman/Batman: Public Enemies (Two-Disc Special Edition) Superman/Batman: Public Enemies (Two-Disc Special Edition)

Based on the DC Comics graphic novel of the same name, the animated direct-to-DVD adventure "Superman/Batman: Public Enemies" posits a world where Lex Luthor takes advantage of this and that national crisis to get elected president, and then at the first opportunity (of course) manipulates events to make Superman Public Enemy Number One. Being Superman's pal, Batman is soon in the crosshairs, as well. This is an intense, entertaining hour-plus story with lots of cameos by DC's heroes and rogues gallery, all trying to capture Superman either because of misguided loyalty to President Luthor or because they want to collect Luthor's billion dollar bounty on Superman's head. A sequence with longtime Superman foe Metallo trying to take down the Man of Steel is very effective and obviously owes a lot to "The Terminator". I bought the two-disc edition of this animated film, because I generally enjoy the extra features put together for the deluxe editions of these films. This particular two-disc set was no exception, as it included a decent twenty-something minute history of the various Superman/Batman team-ups in the comics (complete with psychological profiles of both heroes); and a fun conversation over dinner between Producer Bruce Timm, voice actor Kevin Conroy (who voices Batman in this film and countless other animated productions) and casting director Andrea Romano. Though "Superman/Batman: Public Enemies" is a tad heavy on fights and action for my taste, I realize that this fact will actually be a plus for many viewers. But whether you have quibbles or not, I think most viewers will consider such things exactly that: quibbles. Because, in the end, this package delivers a more-than-decent story and more-than-decent craftsmanship, along with many engaging extra features. I continue to be an enthusiastic fan of these periodic "DC Universe" animated films.

i gotta say,i thoroughly enjoyed this animated offering from DC/Warner Premiere.the animation was top notch.the voice acting was terrific.the fight scenes were outstanding.in fact, the movie was basically just one big long fight scene after another with a veritable rogue's gallery of DC Villains all lining up to take on Superman and Batman.of course, the story takes a huge back seat in this case, other than a brief set up at the beginning.and the movie is short, clocking in at just over an hour not including end credits.normally i prefer a little story depth to my movies, but i got caught up in the action on this one.however,if you do prefer a more fleshed out storyline, you might be disappointed in this one.for me,Superman/Batman: Public Enemies is a 4/5

this is just great- and i was totally set to not like it. first, I have not been a fan of the other DC films, with the exception of New Frontier. The animation was EXCELLENT the story is NOT predictable! everyone is REALLY well developed ... and it is just FUN. there are constant fan moments that really keep a person going... homage, etc. A+

OK...there IS NO VOICE OF BATMAN other than Kevin Conroy as far as I am concerned and he is in full effect on this dvd! Clancy Brown as well as Tim Daly are top-notch as usual. The other full-length movies just aren't worth a flip without the three of these guys behind the voices. The plot is above average. Starts out with Lex being elected President and everyone (except old Supes and Bats) believes that Lex has seen the light and is now righteous and on the side of good. Supes is framed for killing a bad guy and a bounty is placed on his head by Lex. Meanwhile, a hunk of kryptonite the size of a state is hurling towards the planet and threatens to destroy humankind. End with Lex showing his true colors for the whole world to see. Didn't anyone see THAT coming?!?! And oh, yeah, the planet (thank goodness) is saved. Yeah! Now I had to check the back of the box afterwards because I didn't realize the movie was PG-13. There were about 3 or 4 curse words thrown around for effect (h---,b----, d---); and a mention about the size of Powergirl's upward assets. Just a warning for those of you who have kids. The animation is good...a bit more stark and more defined than the Fox and WB series. Wish it could have been longer. Worth a watch!

By far, this is the best DC Universe animated movie that's been released up to this point. It doesn't bog down the viewer with an origin story or "meet and greets." Instead, it jumps right into the action, assuming that the DC superheroes have co-existed for awhile and know one another. Lex Luthor has become president and has many superheroes in his employ. Batman and Superman (rightfully) suspect something is up and try to figure out what it is, thereby becoming "public enemies." Not knowing what to expect, I was very pleasantly surprised to see many lesser known heroes make appearances in the movie even if they didn't really say much (Starfire) or were slightly different (e.g., much more timid) from their comic book personalities (Power Girl). The movie was short (just over an hour), but very concise. It held my interest the entire time. I hope DC continues the tradition of providing this type of animated movie that take place within the existing DC Universe for those of us already "in the know." SUPERMAN/BATMAN: PUBLIC ENEMIES is definitely a keeper on DVD for me.

Batman Symbol Cupcake Party Rings (12) Batman Symbol Cupcake Party Rings (12)

Reviews

these were very cute in cupcakes and kids had tons of fun wearing them after. strong and durable too.

Used these on cupcakes for my 5 year old's birthday. Everyone LOVED the look. They were bigger than expected. Unfortunately, these rings are big and do not fit little fingers. They fit my fingers...so they are meant for adults to wear?

Study and fun on the cupcakes. These rings really got their attention at our 4 year old's superhero birthday party.

These are far lighter and less durable than lead to believe. Cannot maim, alarm, or even fly more than 2 feet. Also they are about 3 inches long. How am I suppose to fight crime with these????

We bought these for the goody bags for our son's birthday party. The kids were excited when they saw them in their bags, but the excitement soon faded when they realized they are too light to throw very far. The cat likes to chew on them though!

Batman became a popular character soon after his introduction, and eventually gained his own title, Batman. As the decades wore on, differing takes on the character emerged. The late 1960s Batman television series utilized a camp aesthetic associated with the character for years after the show ended. Various creators worked to return the character to his dark roots, culminating in the 1986 miniseries Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, by writer-artist Frank Miller. The success of director Tim Burton's 1989 film Batman also helped to reignite popular interest in the character. A cultural icon, Batman has been licensed and adapted into a variety of media, from radio to television and film, and appears on a variety of merchandise sold all over the world.
